This service offers fellow metal clay artists, that have no access to a Kiln, the ability to experiment with more advanced metal clay techniques that would normally require Kiln firing.
Hollow forms, items containing glass, items made from PMC Original. Paper Metal Clay or certain bronze or copper clays will need to be kiln fired.
Maybe you would just prefer a batch of your items to be kiln fired rather than torch firing them yourself?
We are here to be of help and assistance!
Our Kiln Firing service starts FROM just £15.00. For this, you get a dedicated kiln firing session in our Paragon Sc2 kiln. You may submit as many pieces as you like and you can dictate the kiln firing schedule that you require. Your work will not be mixed with another students!
Items for firing can be personally dropped off/collected or posted to us (using an appropriately insured postal service, at the clients risk of loss or damage).
- Clients must book an appointment if they personally wish to drop-off/collect their work.
- Items sent by post should be wrapped appropriately and it is advised that you use an insured, tracked postal service.
- Return postage must be paid for by the client – we are happy to return the items using the postal service stipulated by the client but this is totally at the clients risk of loss or damage.
Once your order has been received we will send you a kiln firing order form. Fill out the form and return it to us with your un-fired pieces.
Upon receipt we will fire, polish(if required) and return your pieces within 3-4 working days. A return postal fee will be issued to you as soon as your pieces are ready to be returned – items will only be returned once this fee has been settled. Return postal fees are based on the current Royal Mail rates – no additional surcharge will be applied.
Please note: although we will handle your pieces with great care and expertise, we cannot accept any responsibility or liability for items sent to us for kiln firing. Items and firing schedules are sent to us with the understanding that pieces can get
lost or damaged in transit, kiln firing may damage a piece (especially if you are not sure of the origin of materials used or the workmanship is technically incorrect in any way).
